Common questions

Which calculator should I use first, position size or margin?

Start with position size. It works backwards from the peso or dollar amount you are willing to risk, your stop distance in pips, and pip value, giving a lot size. The margin calculator then tells you what that position ties up, so you can check it fits your account before you place the order.

How does the pip value calculator handle gold instead of forex pairs?

It uses gold's contract size, where one standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01. A 1.00-lot position therefore moves about $1 per pip, and a 0.10-lot about $0.10 per pip, before any currency conversion. Enter your lot size to see the figure in dollars, then convert to pesos at your broker's rate.

Can the profit calculator show results in pesos?

It computes the move in US dollars first, since XAU/USD is dollar-priced, then converts at the rate you enter. That makes the peso figure an estimate, because your broker applies its own conversion when you close. Treat the output as a planning number and check the actual conversion on your statement.

What do the pivot point tools add that the other calculators do not?

Pivot points are a charting aid, not a risk tool. They calculate reference levels from the prior session's high, low and close, which some traders use to frame intraday entries and stops. They do not predict price. Use them alongside the position size calculator so a level-based stop is converted into a properly sized position.

Are the calculator results guaranteed to match my broker's figures?

No. Our calculators use the standard gold contract terms, 100 oz per lot and 0.01 per pip, and the inputs you provide. Your broker's contract specification, leverage cap, conversion rate and rounding can differ slightly, so confirm against the platform before relying on any figure for a live order.
